I found her on colorful old blankets, dreaming like a princess, smiling in her sleep, cuddling with the warmth of her own body, unprotected, needless to worry, to suspect, it’s home, it’s me, it’s my dog, today.
I woke up early than usual, nature was never that silent and eased.
On my way to the toilet I noticed my dog on the sofa, I passed by to give her a good morning kiss and caress. She barely opened her eyes since she was at such deep peace and just made a sounding vibration of pleasure.

It reminded me of this real story.

I found her in the opposite room, the kids room, wearing old vestments.
Tiny bed, full of fun objects, colors unmatched but beautifully mishmashed into a dreaming hub. Person-less-space but pouring forth of cozy comfort.
Second floor, unprotected, needless to be alert she’s smiling to herself, cuddling with leftover warmth from a canny night in a cold windy island.

I approach, as it’s my time to wake her up. Door is partially open, of course. It’s a family, temporarily*.
I stand there, showered, dressed up, fragranced, all packed and ready to go. I feel like a responsible parent all of a sudden. No, not me. Holding a tiny purplish skateboard, but does it matter? Me, love to play. Grow up later.
