Pic was shot by me

The Navy.

The Nation.

The Border.

The Beach.

The Water.

The Wind.

The Surfers.

The Sea.

The Skies.

The Sun.

It’s all still here, if you dare to believe.

The people, are still free, free to live.

Can you forgive but not forget?

Breathe deeply, let it be, now shut up and give yourself a slap.

2010 Birthday, proud to wave our flags.

2020 Independence Day, lockdown, blindfolded.

Hearts are safe, pounding..

Feet are sandy, bouncing..

Eyes are salty, astounding..

Soldiers are dirty, working for us..

We are clean, thankful for your trust.

Today, we celebrate, but first we commemorate.

Now, the party’s on, in the momory of the ones that are long gone.

Slow-dancing your souls to the Hatikvah song.

I pour my heart involuntarily into words, since I found that writing is the ultimate solution for a nightmarish sailing journey. I can still connect with you :)
